Support Coach Staz's Hip Surgery Recovery

A Letter from Staz:

Hello Friends,
As you may or may not know, in April of 2025 I had a stilt accident; I stilt-walked into a gopher hole! As entertaining as it is as a good clown bit, it was quite serious. After being in great pain for a year, I finally had to have my right hip replaced because of the incident. I have heard great things about hip replacements and how fast the healing time is for most people; unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

I had intense complications with the medication and recovering from the anesthesia that sent me back to the hospital twice. I was told that sensitive people have a much longer healing process and that I could expect mine to take 3 to 6 months. The muscles in my thigh and knee are still numb, and the effects of the anesthesia have caused muscle weakness, brain fog, and debilitating exhaustion. My Physical Therapy has already been extended for another month. As you can imagine, this has not only taken a toll on me physically, but also on my mental, emotional, and financial state of well-being and sustainability.

Wise Fool has been very supportive in my healing journey for sure! It is due to our workers’ comp that I have been able to have all the medical bills covered. I am so grateful! On the other hand, I am, of course, prohibited from any form of work and am only receiving $328.00 every 14 days.

While I am grateful to receive this, I cannot survive financially. I started a GoFundMe that has saved me! Due to my exhaustion level, it has been difficult to maintain it, and due to my stressed mental state about even needing it and having to ask for help of this magnitude, I have let it slip, but I cannot survive without it. Over the last week, I have also been dealing with an emergency with my beloved dog, Señor Snugglemuffin, which cost $2500 to fix; my daughter and I spent our rent money to take care of him and still have not been able to pay all our rent for this month.

Thank you for reading this message about this healing journey! I really appreciate your care. At this time, I am again needing to ask for help with my GoFundMe efforts. The assistance I need is, of course, donations to the fund, but where I really fall short is getting the word out and having it circulated far and wide; this is something I have not been able to do on my own. I have added the link below. I am deeply grateful and appreciate any assistance you may be inclined to offer.
