Help Our Show Run Smoothly by Helping Behind the Scenes

Help us bring Wise Fool New Mexico’s Summer Cabaret to life!

Our performers have been busy creating a magical evening of circus, storytelling, and wonder — and we need a few extra hands behind the scenes to help the show run smoothly. Whether you love welcoming audiences, helping create a beautiful experience, or working backstage with the performers, there’s a place for you on our crew!

We are looking for volunteers for each performance night in the following roles:

Front of House Crew (2 volunteers per show)

Our Front of House team is the welcoming face of the cabaret! These volunteers help create a warm, organized, and inviting experience for our audience members from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Greeting audience members and answering basic questions
  • Helping with check-in/ticketing
  • Assisting guests with seating
  • Helping maintain a welcoming and accessible environment
  • Supporting audience flow before the show and during intermission
  • Great for folks who enjoy connecting with people and helping create a positive first impression!

Merch Crew (2 volunteers per show)

Merch volunteers help run our merchandise table and connect audience members with Wise Fool goodies before the show and during intermission.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Setting up and organizing the merch table
  • Greeting audience members and helping with purchases
  • Handling basic transactions
  • Assisting customers during intermission
  • Keeping merchandise organized throughout the performance
  • Packing up the merch area after the show
  • Great for folks who enjoy chatting with people and supporting our community programs!

Time commitment: Volunteers should plan to arrive before the show begins and stay through the end of the show (including pack-up of the merch area).

Stage Hands (2 volunteers per show — including one person with rigging experience)

Help keep the magic moving behind the scenes! Stage hands support performers and the production team by helping with backstage organization, transitions, and the many little details that make a live show run smoothly.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with backstage organization and performer needs
  • Helping move props, equipment, and performance items
  • Supporting act transitions and quick changes
  • Communicating with the stage manager and performers
  • Helping maintain a safe and organized backstage environment
  • Assisting with post-show breakdown
  • Great for folks who love the behind-the-scenes side of circus and live performance!

Time commitment: Volunteers should plan to arrive before the show for preparation and stay through the end of the performance for breakdown.

Volunteers will help support our performers, our audience, and the magic happening onstage. Thank you for helping make community circus possible!
