Fall Fundraising
Soaring Into the Season
Over the past eight months, our trapezes have been gathering dust in boxes, our juggling props shoved into coaches’ cars as they’re shuttled around town, the amount of time our staff spent on their laptops in local coffee shops rose exponentially, and our students were left grounded – without a place to fly (myself, included!).
Becoming a “traveling circus” was harder than we imagined. Support from organizations like Teatro Paraguas, Santa Fe Children’s Museum and Desert Montessori school welcomed us into their space, ensuring that our youth programs could thrive. While our students soared, our coaches shouldered the unanticipated challenge of constant travel and equipment transport. While we made the traveling model work, it became clear that we needed to expedite our step back into a true home.
This past August, Wise Fool New Mexico had the pleasure of signing a lease on a new space within the growing midtown campus arts district – so all of the things we so dearly missed during our temporary closure are about to return. We have several months of work ahead of our grand reopening, as we need to transform this cement warehouse space into a usable circus arts facility. Included in our renovation plans are a state-of-the-art aerial truss system with safety features that allow us to lower tangled students out of the air, low-impact flooring perfect for movement arts, full-length mirrors for rehearsal use, cozy furniture to hold our community, and of course, a fresh coat of paint.
Each donation brings us closer to completing these projects and transforming our new space into a home for us that will be used and played in for years to come. As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our donors to keep our doors open, programs running, and circus magic alive! Every dollar we earn from our programs goes directly back towards funding our mission. We are, and have always been, a people-powered organization. Our donors are what keep us moving – and covering these expenses through fundraising efforts prevents us from having to divert support from our cause.
The reason we are still active today is due to the support we received during our Save The Circus campaign. Our donors kept us afloat when we lost our income from studio classes, and buoyed us through the transition. As well, an angel donor gave a transformational amount that allowed us to begin our new studio’s Seed Fund, which made it possible for us to build out aerial rigging.
This is where you come in.
Our grand reopening is in January 2026, but need your help to make it happen. Your gift will help propel Wise Fool through the renovation process so we can bring our circus magic back to Santa Fe. The absence of Wise Fool’s home has left a void in Santa Fe’s art scene. Will you give money today to help us reopen our studio?
Your support will extend far beyond just transforming our new space:
- Kids will continue learning new tools to regulate their emotions, calm their bodies, and conquer their fears
- Adults can reconnect with accessible physical activities that are both fun and creative
- Our community re-gains a safe gathering space where all of our voices can be heard
Will you help our community fly again?
Your support makes circus arts possible in New Mexico. Your gift allows our professional coaches to bring their experience, joy, and safety to every class. You open doors for youth through scholarships, create pathways for adults with work-trade opportunities, and help us grow by partnering with other community organizations. You also keep the lights on – literally!
Donations cover essentials like rent, insurance, and utilities, making our studio a welcoming, safe space for all. By giving today, you became an essential hand guiding us back into the spotlight
With gratitude (and excitement!)
