Annual Productions
Our Annual Productions are Wise Fool’s largest and most ambitious performances of the year. These fully realized theatrical works blend circus arts with storytelling, original artistic direction, and collaborative ensemble creation to explore impactful social issues and engage audiences in new ways.
Over the past 25+ years, Wise Fool New Mexico has produced over 38 original performances, most notably Circus Luminous which ran from 2003 – 2019. Our professional-scale productions returned following the pandemic in 2023, only to take another year hiatus in 2025 following the loss of our Siler Rd studio and NEA funding cuts. In 2026 we joyfully returned to the stage!

Entrapping Our Abundance, 2026
Entrapping Our Abundance follows two mischievous villain characters as they visit New Mexico. After seeing the wealth of natural resources within the land, they scheme about ways to claim it for themselves – but the community pushes back.
Beyond the Binary, 2024
Beyond the Binary presents a looking-glass journey of self-discovery that takes us through the natural world and concepts of gender throughout history, questioning the origins of our modern colonial gender roles and highlighting the incredible diversity of life and expression on this planet.
ReUnite: Enter the Mycroverse, 2023
We invite you to enter into the alternate reality of Reunite where mycelium flourish in symbiotic relationality with the natural world and elements. This utopian existence is soon threatened with the arrival of the alluring, yet destructive atomic mushroom race and its penchant for greed, violence and extraction to fuel its insatiable appetite.
