Co-Executive Team & Staff

Alishiya Kapoor (she/they)

Co-Executive Director - Productions and Administration

Alishiya is dedicated to social justice and working alongside diverse communities in many forms. She has worked with youth since 2013, working for a social justice non-profit, Jerusalem Farm leading youth on home repair and hospitality sites in the diverse community of Northeast Kansas City, MO.

She started her circus training in 2012 with hula hooping and is a certified yoga instructor, receiving her 200-RYT in 2015 from Siddhi Yoga in Dharmshala, India. She has been teaching both youth and adults since. Moving to New Mexico in 2016, she became an AmeriCorps VISTA with Santa Fe Birth to Career/ Opportunity Santa Fe/ Mayor’s Youth Cabinet supporting extended learning programs in Santa Fe, including a summer program between the City and Santa Fe Community Educators Network.

Alishiya began training with Wise Fool New Mexico in 2016 and has performed in BUST and CircAspire.

Amaya Alvarado (any pronouns)

Co-Executive Director - Education Outreach & Employee Relations

Amaya Alvarado is a multidisciplinary circus artist and lover of movement. After completing the Professional Program at the Circus Warehouse in NYC she went on to graduate from the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) focusing on hand-to-hand, group acrobatics, and trapeze. Amaya has performed with a number of renowned companies and organizations including Comedy Central, Summer Stage NYC, Nimble Arts, and Aerial Angels, and she is the founding director of Aiya Productions. She has studied hand-to-hand, acrobatics and aerials with some of the greatest coaches and innovators in North America: at NECCA and in Montreal with Jérome LeBeaut (Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Eloize and Seven Fingers) and Natalia Adamiecka (Cirque Eloize). She also studied with prominent coaches at the Beijing Acrobatic School in China, including Coach Lee and Coach Tzuo. As a teacher, Amaya endeavors to uplift, empower and facilitate experiences of joyful spontaneity and growth. Amaya co-created, choreographed and performed in the contemporary circus theatre show Tinder and Ash, born through a Tohu artist residency in Montreal and further developed at the Orchard Project Residency in Saratoga Springs, NY. In 2019 Amaya directed and performed, in collaboration with Kate Law, a two woman show entitled Pole Disclosure which was developed with support from the Regional Arts and Culture Council of Oregon. Amaya’s most recent work, entitled “Grief Cabaret: A Glamorous Mourning” premiered in Portland in September 2021. Amaya is a movement storyteller and her work has been called “hilariously vulnerable” and “beautifully touching.

Amelia Calsi (she/they)

Adults Program Coordinator & Youth Outreach Coordinator

Amelia is an artist, activist, and community organizer. She arrived in Santa Fe in the autumn of 2021, following a little voice in her head that compelled her to explore the light and landscapes of this magical desert. Always seeking creative spaces, she was excited to be introduced to the work of Wise Fool, and even more excited to get to join their team.

Previously, Amelia worked as a muralist and arts administrator for Groundswell, a Brooklyn-based youth non-profit. She is also passionate about rock climbing, slacklining, silks, and social justice.

Alexis "Lex" Kubicki (she/they)

Administrative Assistant

Alexis, who also goes by Lex, is an artist and mover.

Originally from Southern California, they first discovered movement arts through fire spinning, and developed a love for choreographing group fire performances. They have premiered group fire acts at Wasteland Weekend and Burning Man Conclave with performance troupes Burning Sensation 2012, Wretched Embers Collective 2014, Pyrophylactics 2018, and Pyrokitten 2022. Lex currently spins poi, 3-poi, fire fans, and rope dart; they are a founding member of Santa Fe Flow Collective as well as a performer under Wildfire Entertainment Agency.

Lex was introduced to aerial arts after moving to Santa Barbara, and started training on lyra under Autumn Lotus & Katelyn Carano in 2016. She is enjoying the process of deepening her connection with her favored apparatus, and has begun to dip a toe into aerial performances since joining Wise Fool.

Lex is formally trained as an illustrator with a BFA from Laguna College of Art + Design, and made the move to Santa Fe after longing to find a community of artists they could call home. They are also currently being trained in a tattoo apprenticeship.

Nayeli Navarro (she/hers)
Guiding Officer
Dr. Nayeli Navarro is a New Mexico Licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine and is NCCAOM certified in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine and Herbalism. She graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, NM in 2014, and holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from The University of Arizona, Tucson (1998). She has advanced training in auricular acupuncture, Classical Acupuncture, Chinese Herbalism, and gynecological and hormonal conditions, and is experienced in treating pain, auto-immune disorders, thyroid disorders, chronic health conditions, women’s health, and nutrition.
Evan Crichton Anderson (he/him)
Secretary
Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Evan graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2015 with a M.Sc. in Literature & Modernity. Since then, he has organized grassroots fundraising for Oregon's local PBS & NPR affiliate, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and has helped put on arts events such as the Pickathon Music Festival, Symbiosis' Oregon Eclipse, and Envision Festival in Costa Rica. He is excited to be part of Wise Fool's mission for arts education and social justice.
Endion Schichtel (they/she)
Officer
Endion (“E”) is a conservation biologist and multi-disciplinary artist specializing in science communication. Originally from New Mexico, they have travelled the world researching human & water justice, environmental advocacy, and circus arts. With 15 years of professional experience in community organizing and environmental education, E is excited to be a part of such an inspiring and resilient organization such as Wise Fool, and to contribute any way that they can.
Tina Arons (she/hers)
Officer
Wildfire Tina is a dancer and fire performer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She began her journey into these arts in 2016. She co-founded a female fire performer collective called FemPyre in 2017 and performed with PyroTex at Burning Man 2018. She was the assistant director and performed with Aruna Fire at Burning Man 2019. She has danced with Mosaic Dance Company in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and currently co-leads Santa Fe Flow Collective. In 2023, Tina launched Wildfire Entertainment Agency in New Mexico, and she is in the process of expanding. She provides a variety of entertainment for parties and events across New Mexico. When she’s not performing, Tina is a full time high school educator, a parent, and a social media content creator. She’s a gardener, a yoga teacher, a community activist, and a poet.
Kristen Woods (she/hers)

Officer & Former Co-Executive Director

Kristen Woods is an artist. She is also a Co-Chair in the American Circus Executors Social Circus Committee. Kristen is a Nimble Arts certified aerial instructor. She received a MEWP(Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) and Wire Rope and Rigging certification from the IATSE 480 training center. Having worked at the Santa Fe Opera, on television, at events around her state and dozens of cabarets, she is a performance artist specializing in aerial acrobatics, stilt-walking and clown.

Kristen first started at Wise Fool while taking BUST in 2011. Kristen also practices photography and makes art as often as possible however she can and wherever her ideas take her. Kristen believes that circus has magic for everyone. She is very excited to share her love of art with the Wise Fool community.
