Welcome to the Mycroverse! A NEW Circus Production.

We invite you to enter into an alternate reality where mycelium flourish in symbiotic relationality with the natural world and elements. This utopian existence is soon threatened with the arrival of the alluring, yet destructive atomic mushroom race and its penchant for greed, violence and extraction to fuel its insatiable appetite. This performance provides a stirring metaphor for Western colonialism and its ongoing destructive impact the world over, particularly on Indigenous peoples and communities, with special emphasis on nuclear colonialism in New Mexico.

Since Fall of 2022, Wise Fool has been working on the production of a new Circus Show! This will be our first show since the Pandemic and we are delighted to return to sharing the circus arts with our community! Our cast of professional artists has been working collaboratively to generate this show this spring. The show will feature stilt walking, acrobatics, juggling, slackline and aerial acrobat feats.

What is FLOW and Why are we doing it??
FLOW is an awakening to what was, what is, and what could be, marking the Rio Chiquito’s path (now Water Street), and unfolding the history of what was once a major water source for the city’s flora, fauna, and agriculture.

FLOW is a procession of giant puppets, street theatre, music, poetry, dance and ceremony running from the source Spring at the northwest corner of Paseo de Peralta and Alameda, following the Rio Chiquito (now Water Street) to its confluence with the Santa Fe River near the Guadalupe Church.

FLOW offers free public arts workshops May 27 and June 3 at Wise Fool NM, (1131 B Siler Road) to engage, educate and inspire all community members about Santa Fe’s water and water history. At these workshops, we’ll share histories of the Rio Chiquito and the Santa Fe River as inspiration for puppets, banners, movement and poetry about water and the Rio Chiquito. Resulting artworks will inhabit the procession, coming to life as we community members wear, dance, speak and sing our relationship to the waters.
